The Pickle app came to us with a functional product but a significant problem: their app had been designed by developers rather than designers, and it showed. While the technology worked, the user experience and visual identity weren't meeting their ambitions for user retention and growth. They needed more than minor tweaks, they required a complete brand and product overhaul to transform their developer-built app into a polished, user-centric platform that could compete in today's demanding app marketplace.

What they needed

The Pickle team needed a comprehensive redesign from the ground up. Starting with just login credentials to their existing app, they required a partner who could reverse-engineer every screen, understand complex user flows, and rebuild the entire experience. This meant full UI/UX overhaul including wireframing, high-fidelity designs, interactive prototyping, a complete visual rebrand, app store graphics, a complementary website design, documented user flows, and a robust design system to guide future development, all while improving retention and ease of use.

The problem we solved

We methodically worked through the entire app, screen by screen, mapping flows and identifying pain points in the developer-led design. Our team created a cohesive visual language and brand identity, then rebuilt the user experience from wireframes through to high-fidelity prototypes. We delivered a complete design system with documented user flows, ensuring consistency across every touchpoint. Beyond the app itself, we designed app store assets to improve conversion and created a website that extended their new brand identity. The result was a transformation from a functional but forgettable app into a polished, user-friendly platform ready to scale.
